Introducing a wonderful (and slightly scary...) photobook. It's a propaganda-like collection designed to promote Japan during World War II. Published in multiple languages, this is the Japanese edition. The imposing A3 format and the design, strongly influenced by the Russian avant-garde, make it hard to contain your excitement as you turn the pages. I've seen many films and dramas depicting the Japanese military during World War II, but I don't remember anything quite as profound as this book.
Incredibly, I saw it listed at a used bookstore for about 70,000 won, so I bought it right away. The seller clearly didn't know its value, but I suppressed my guilt by promising to put it to good use. ^^
