FORM
A truly beautiful book, deeply immersed in the Swiss spirit. It's a photo collection of Max Bill's designs, including furniture, appliances, tools, architecture, and more.
This is a highly structured book, revealing the grid framework and language usage system at a glance. The design seems to assemble information into blocks... yet, it possesses a painterly beauty and tension that defies description. The text functions as both information and imagery within the layout, and the photographs harmonize well with the structured text. His artistic prowess is particularly evident in the way he uses the photographs not as rectangular images dependent on an outer frame, but rather focuses on the content and utilizes them within the layout. In a way, the debate between Jan Zichölt and Max Bill could have arisen precisely because of their striking similarity.
This book... has a beautiful cover, but the one I own doesn't have a cover...
