『World Graphic Design <1> Visual Communication』
This book is the same age as me. Yet, it's incomparably superior to my current designs. This book is a history of visual design, a museum, and a library. It's a thoughtful resource that appropriately blends the foundations of graphic design, often perceived as Western-centric, with Eastern perspectives. Its core content addresses the visualization of all thoughts and language, regardless of cultural sphere. In terms of content, it's a book that only someone who lived a thousand years ago could have created.
When I first saw this book, I immediately thought, "The printer must have had a hard time..." because every page was printed on the ground. Even without using many colors, it leaves a very powerful impression. This is also a characteristic of Sugiura Kohei's designs, which effectively utilize the principles of printing to calculate efficiency.
『Graphic Design of the World』 is a set of seven books, but the first one (Visual Communication) is exceptionally rare and highly regarded.
