Science for Adults
When I first saw "Science for Adults" in a bookstore, I couldn't help but be intrigued by its somewhat unbalanced volume for a magazine. It reminded me of those childhood snacks that came with toys that were far more expensive than the snacks themselves. It felt like the book was overflowing with content. Each issue of this magazine features a theme, highlighting gadgets that might pique the interest of adults, like cameras, telescopes, and vacuum tube amplifiers. The magazine also includes a highly detailed, modular appendix, piques their curiosity. I personally remember carrying around a 36mm twin-lens reflex camera and finding it incredibly useful.
In some ways, this appendix concept may feel a bit old-fashioned, but I think it is also a factor in its success in accurately capturing the memories of adults.
